Role Overview
The Compliance Manager / Data Protection Officer (DPO) will strengthen governance and regulatory compliance for Affirm B.V. across the EU. This role focuses on building and maintaining privacy and compliance frameworks aligned with EU and Dutch regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
The position reports to the EU Compliance Director and serves as the registered DPO with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Key Responsibilities
🛡️ Compliance & Privacy Framework
- Design, implement, and maintain the EU Compliance & Privacy Framework aligned with GDPR and local regulations
- Develop risk-based policies, procedures, and controls aligned with global standards
📋 Data Protection Officer Duties
- Serve as registered DPO for Affirm B.V.
- Act as primary contact with the Dutch Data Protection Authority
- Manage regulatory notifications and reporting
🔍 Privacy Governance & Risk Oversight
- Lead Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy-by-design reviews
- Maintain records and privacy governance processes
- Support compliance monitoring and risk assessments
🤝 Cross-Functional Advisory
- Advise Product, Risk, Engineering, and business teams on privacy and compliance matters
- Balance regulatory obligations with business objectives
📊 Compliance Monitoring & Awareness
- Support execution of the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP)
- Deliver training and promote a culture of compliance
- Monitor regulatory developments and update frameworks accordingly
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 6+ years in regulatory compliance and/or data protection
- Experience within regulated consumer credit, BNPL, fintech, or payments environments
- Proven experience building or managing compliance/privacy programs
Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of GDPR and EU regulatory requirements
- Strong understanding of compliance testing, monitoring, and risk frameworks

Compensation
Netherlands Base Salary:
€83,000 – €123,000 annually
Equity: Eligible for equity awards from Affirm Holdings, Inc.
