Role Overview
A leading global biotechnology company is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to support its Biopharmaceutical Sciences and Manufacturing Operations (BSMO) organization. This role will partner closely with Commercial Manufacturing and Technical Operations, Commercial Finance, and Disease Strategy Finance teams, with a primary focus on cell and gene therapy manufacturing.
The position plays a critical role in financial planning, forecasting, and decision support for advanced biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations, including support for a landmark CRISPR-based gene-editing therapy used to treat severe blood disorders.
This is a high-impact leadership role that combines strategic finance, manufacturing economics, and cross-functional business partnership in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and influence key business decisions
- Identify ROI and trade-off opportunities to improve profitability across manufacturing and supply chain operations
- Lead monthly and quarterly close processes related to operating expenses, inventory, and cost of goods sold (COGS), including variance and flux analysis
- Ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning through scenario modeling and forward-looking financial insights
- Provide transparent reporting on risks, opportunities, and key drivers impacting expenses, capital, and COGS
- Develop, mentor, and coach finance team members while promoting an inclusive and collaborative team culture
- Collaborate closely with Commercial Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Accounting, and other finance partners to drive continuous process improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership or managerial roles
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Manufacturing and Supply Chain executive teams
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling across OPEX, inventory, and COGS
- Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing finance
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders

- Strong understanding of industry trends, markets, and manufacturing economics
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Hyperion or similar planning tools preferred

- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing shifting priorities
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and execution skills
Work Arrangement
This position is Hybrid-Eligible, offering flexibility to work remotely up to two days per week or fully onsite based on business needs and personal preference. Flex designation is subject to company policy and may change.
