The Opportunity
DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a National Account Manager (NAM) to join its Enterprise Sales team. This senior-level role is responsible for the overall financial performance, strategic direction, and long-term health of DAT’s business within the national transportation and logistics broker channel.
The National Account Manager will manage a portfolio of the company’s largest and most complex brokerage customers, building executive-level relationships, leading joint business planning, and driving adoption of DAT’s full suite of SaaS and data solutions at a national scale.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Leadership
- Develop and execute Joint Business Plans (JBPs) for national and strategic broker accounts
- Align customer growth strategies with DAT’s objectives to maximize long-term contract value
Revenue & Profitability Ownership
- Own P&L responsibility for the assigned portfolio
- Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and sales volume
- Manage pricing strategies to ensure profitable growth and market share expansion
Executive Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite and senior decision-makers at large brokerage firms
- Serve as a long-term strategic partner to customers
Consultative Selling
- Act as a trusted advisor by leveraging deep knowledge of the full truckload marketplace
- Recommend complex, multi-product SaaS and data solutions that address operational and financial challenges
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to support national contracts and customer initiatives
- Advocate internally for customer needs to ensure a high-quality end-to-end experience
Sales Process Excellence
- Maintain Salesforce as the system of record for account intelligence, pipeline management, and forecasting
- Ensure disciplined sales execution and data accuracy
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in National Account Management, Enterprise Sales, or Account Management within B2B SaaS, logistics, or transportation technology
- Proven experience managing national or highly complex strategic accounts with multi-million-dollar contract values
- Expert knowledge of the freight brokerage lifecycle and full truckload marketplace
- Strong understanding of transportation technology solutions (e.g., TMS, load boards, rate tools, data services)
- Demonstrated ability to execute long-term, complex sales strategies at the national level
- Advanced proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce
- Exceptional negotiation, financial analysis, strategic planning, and executive presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, or related field preferred)
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer meetings and industry events
Compensation & Benefits
- Colorado salary range: $89,000 – $123,000 base salary plus commission
- Compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market conditions
