Compensation is based on experience, education, certifications, location, and overall market considerations.
Location Requirement
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a GRS hub office and be able to work onsite two days per week.
About the Role
A leading global insurance and risk solutions provider is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to independently develop high-quality credit analyses for both prospective and existing customers. This role focuses on evaluating complex financial structures, assessing credit risk, and supporting underwriting decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
The position requires strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare concise, accurate credit analyses for private and public entities, including complex transactions
- Analyze financial statements and filings of varying quality (company-prepared, GAAP, IFRS)
- Assign credit ratings and assess key strengths, weaknesses, industry outlook, and collateral options
- Partner with underwriters and management to determine appropriate collateral structures for insured programs
- Facilitate approval of credit exceptions when required
- Communicate financial performance, trends, and business implications to management and stakeholders
- Utilize external resources (e.g., rating agencies, First Research) to benchmark performance and assess industry trends
- Produce and analyze complex management reports, identifying business drivers and insights
- Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Support team development through peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and training
- Lead or facilitate training sessions as needed
- Travel occasionally to support underwriting at broker and client meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (required)
- CPA or advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of finance experience, with credit analysis and/or financial statement analysis strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of financial tools, analytical methods, and credit risk concepts
- Comfortable leading meetings and presenting findings to senior management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
