Position Overview
BSI Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Auditor to perform hands-on regulatory compliance audits at industrial and commercial facilities across the United States. This is a field-based auditing role, focused on direct execution of audits rather than audit oversight or program management.
The role supports clients in identifying EHS risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing practical, compliance-driven solutions. Successful candidates will have a strong background personally planning, conducting, and documenting EHS and environmental compliance audits.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Auditing & Compliance
- Plan, lead, and execute on-site EHS and environmental compliance audits across U.S. client facilities
- Conduct regulatory and risk-based audits covering air, waste, water, chemical management, and related EHS programs
- Perform on-site inspections, employee interviews, and document reviews to identify compliance gaps
- Evaluate permitting, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Reporting & Quality Assurance
- Prepare clear, accurate, and well-documented audit reports with findings and corrective action recommendations
- Provide technical review and quality assurance of audit deliverables prepared by other team members
- Ensure audit deliverables meet scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality expectations
Client Engagement
- Work directly with industrial and commercial clients to deliver EHS compliance management services
- Provide practical, implementable compliance solutions
- Support long-term client relationships that drive repeat engagements
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental/Civil/Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Public Health, Safety, or a related field
Experience
- 5–15 years of EHS consulting and regulatory compliance experience
- Minimum 5 years of direct, hands-on experience performing EHS and environmental compliance audits
- Demonstrated experience personally conducting environmental regulatory compliance audits (not oversight-only roles)
- Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. EHS and environmental regulations
- Proven ability to independently manage audits from planning through reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Consistent track record of high-quality client delivery and satisfaction
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CHMM, CSP, CPEA, or similar
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification
- Experience auditing or evaluating EHS management systems
- Demonstrated success delivering compliance-focused solutions for industrial or commercial clients
