Role Overview
DAT and the Convoy Platform are seeking a Business Analyst – Carrier Network to support data-driven decision-making across the full carrier lifecycle. This role serves as a core analytical partner to the Carrier Network team, providing insights across carrier supply, engagement, vetting, onboarding, operations, and performance.
The Business Analyst will act as the quantitative backbone of the organization, building dashboards, developing measurement frameworks, and translating complex data into actionable recommendations. This position partners closely with Science, Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve marketplace performance and elevate analytical rigor across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems covering carrier supply, engagement, onboarding, vetting, operations, and performance
- Analyze the carrier matching funnel (view → bid → match) to identify conversion opportunities and performance improvements
- Develop tracking systems and measurement frameworks to evaluate carrier journey effectiveness
- Own Weekly Business Review (WBR) and Monthly Business Review (MBR) reporting, goal tracking, and insights generation
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis, A/B testing, and statistical modeling to optimize carrier acquisition, vetting, and retention strategies
- Partner with Science and other teams to translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations
- Improve organizational analytical capabilities through best practices, training, and reusable analytical tools
- Investigate data anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions to improve data integrity and operational outcomes
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or quantitative roles
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex queries, performance optimization, and work with large datasets
- Experience working within existing data pipelines and modifying established SQL logic
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Streamlit, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts, A/B testing, and experimental design
- Demonstrated ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and insights
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-directed, proactive mindset with experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Experience with marketplace dynamics, supply-demand modeling, or customer lifecycle analytics
- Background in freight, logistics, or transportation analytics
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range for Washington-based candidates: $109,000 – $150,000, based on experience, skills, and internal equity
