Role Overview
BSI is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to support commercial decision-making across the business, working closely with commercial leadership, sales teams, and product managers.
This role goes beyond traditional accounting. It is commercially focused, analytical, and stakeholder-facing, ideal for a finance professional early in their career who enjoys turning data into insight, explaining performance drivers, and improving processes in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnering
- Partner with KS commercial leadership, sales teams, and product managers
- Provide clear financial insights to support commercial and strategic decisions
- Present financial analysis, variances, and trends to stakeholders at multiple seniority levels
- Explain financial performance with clarity and confidence
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare and present monthly management reports
- Analyse variances, trends, and performance drivers
- Conduct detailed cost centre reviews and investigate anomalies
- Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial data
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles
- Help develop robust financial plans aligned with business goals
- Assist in tracking performance against budget and forecast
Month-End Close
- Perform key month-end activities including:
- Journal postings
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting
Process Improvement & Projects
- Identify and implement improvements to finance tools and processes
- Streamline Excel models and reporting templates
- Lead or contribute to small finance improvement projects to increase efficiency
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- 1–2 years’ experience in a commercially focused finance or analysis role
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence with financial modelling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across different seniority levels
- Proactive, curious, and self-driven approach
Preferred:
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Experience using SAP
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
