2. Role Purpose
This internship exists to support underwriting operations for employer group health plans with over 50 eligible employees. It helps process renewals, proposals, and benefit changes while giving students hands-on exposure to underwriting and healthcare products. The role contributes by improving accuracy, efficiency, and client support within the underwriting team.
3. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Underwriters with client renewals and proposal processing
- Support rating of benefit changes for group health plans
- Complete ERISA 5500 reports for applicable clients
- Research client, member, and benefit data using internal systems and Microsoft Excel
- Produce client reports and underwriting rating outputs
- Assist with enrollment settlements
- Collaborate with Underwriters, Actuaries, Account Managers, and other internal partners
