Role Summary
This role leads large-scale Finance Technology initiatives with enterprise-wide and regulatory impact. The Finance Project Manager is responsible for delivering complex programs involving financial systems integration, governance, and risk management, while partnering with senior leadership and global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale finance technology projects
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk logs, and governance dashboards
- Oversee Statements of Work (SOWs), vendor costs, and timesheet approvals
- Coordinate execution across Finance, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams globally
- Drive implementation and integration of finance systems in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide regular status updates and manage escalations to senior stakeholders
- Conduct post-project reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 8+ years of project management experience in finance or financial services technology
- PMP or Business Analysis certification (CBAP/CCBA) preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, regulatory reporting, and data governance
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Work Arrangement
SMBC Group operates under a hybrid work model. Candidates must live within commuting distance of the Charlotte, NC office. Specific schedules are discussed during the interview process.
