The Opportunity
DAT is seeking a Key Account Manager (KAM) to join its Enterprise Sales Team. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value enterprise accounts, driving customer satisfaction, and supporting revenue retention and growth.
The Key Account Manager oversees the post-contract lifecycle, from initial commitment validation through renewals and expansions, while balancing customer retention with proactive upsell and cross-sell opportunities. The role requires strong relationship management, consultative selling skills, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Account Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150–200 high-value enterprise accounts
- Meet or exceed retention targets while identifying and executing growth opportunities
Client Relationship & Performance Management
- Monitor and report on key account performance metrics to ensure client satisfaction and revenue outcomes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer issues related to billing, contracts, and service adjustments
Consultative & Strategic Selling
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers by leveraging market knowledge of the full truckload marketplace
- Recommend multi-product SaaS and data solutions that address operational and financial challenges
Internal Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to advocate for customer needs
- Support contract negotiations and deliver a high-quality end-to-end customer experience
Sales Process Excellence
- Maintain Salesforce as the system of record for account intelligence, pipeline activity, and renewals
- Ensure strong data integrity and disciplined sales execution
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, or a related commercial role
- 3+ years of experience in transportation/logistics or SaaS serving the transportation sector
- Proven ability to manage large account portfolios while achieving retention and growth targets
- Strong relationship-building skills, including engagement with senior and executive stakeholders
- Analytical ability to evaluate product usage, adoption trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Colorado salary range: $54,000 – $72,000 base salary plus commission
- Compensation is based on experience, skills, internal equity, and market considerations
