Job Overview
A leading healthcare technology company is seeking a Product Design Director to lead the UI/UX vision across a diverse portfolio of web, mobile, and client-server applications. This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and executing a unified user experience strategy that delivers intuitive, consistent, and high-quality end-to-end customer experiences.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on design leader who can scale design organizations, embed user-centered design into product development, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
UX Vision & Strategy
- Define and champion a cohesive UX vision across a global, multi-product SaaS ecosystem
- Align UX strategy with business priorities to deliver easy-to-learn, easy-to-use, and engaging customer experiences
- Own and evolve the UX roadmap, balancing long-term strategy with near-term delivery
Product & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Embed UX practices into the full product development lifecycle within Agile teams
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and executive stakeholders
- Champion user-centered design through customer research, usability testing, and direct customer engagement
Design Execution & Systems
- Drive excellence in design systems, including global style guides, design libraries, tools, and methodologies
- Ensure consistency and quality across web and mobile platforms
- Use data, research, and insights to guide design decisions and priorities
Team Building & Leadership
- Lead as a player-coach, providing hands-on guidance and mentorship
- Build, scale, and develop a high-performing UX organization through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, innovation, and creative excellence
Travel & Work Environment
- Travel: Less than 25%
- Office environment with no special physical requirements
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of UX design experience, including 5+ years in UX leadership roles within cloud-based SaaS environments
- Proven experience leading and scaling UX teams across complex, multi-product B2B software portfolios
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute UX strategy in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Marketing
- Experience designing technically complex workflows and interfaces (healthcare, medical, or dental domains preferred)
- Strong expertise in UX/UI principles, usability research, and best practices across web and mobile platforms
- Hands-on experience with design systems, style guides, design libraries, and common UX artifacts (journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs)
- Ability to balance strategic vision with tactical execution and delivery
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills
- Strong business acumen, including experience delivering results through complex initiatives
- A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with a passion for mentoring and continuous learning
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required
- A portfolio demonstrating data-informed decision making and measurable impact
Compensation
- Salary Range: $170,000 – $230,000 (USD)
- Compensation is based on experience, skills, location, labor market factors, and internal equity
- Eligible for a performance-based bonus (not included in the posted range)
