Position Overview
TruStage is seeking a Finance Director, Commercial Segment to serve as the strategic financial business partner for a designated business or functional area, such as a product segment or operations group. This role works closely with senior leadership to develop and execute strategies that drive business performance, profitability, and long-term growth.
The Finance Director ensures strong financial discipline across the assigned area, provides leadership to embedded finance teams, and partners with Corporate Finance to support enterprise-wide performance management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a core member of the assigned leadership team, contributing financial insight to strategic and tactical planning
- Partner with business leaders and potential external partners to identify and execute profit improvement initiatives
- Provide financial and strategic support for initiatives including product development and exit strategies, mergers and acquisitions, incubator and transformation efforts, and outsourcing decisions
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance and other finance functions to ensure consistent, rigorous performance management
- Lead cross-finance and cross-organizational initiatives, ensuring alignment and a unified finance perspective
- Build, lead, and develop finance staff to support departmental and corporate goals
- Develop team capabilities and cultivate talent for future leadership roles
- Ensure key financial drivers and critical success factors are clearly identified, quantified, and supported by actionable plans
- Direct the development and maintenance of financial and business models to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making
- Facilitate business management processes, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Drive root-cause analysis of financial performance variances and recommend corrective actions
- Design and support initiatives to improve financial literacy within the assigned business area
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CLU, ChFC, CCUE, or FSA strongly preferred
- 12+ years of experience in financial management within the financial services industry
- Experience with sales and revenue models, product pricing, profitability analysis, and performance metrics
- 4–5 years of experience leading teams or directing resources
- 3–5 years of experience providing executive-level consultation and influencing business decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence, present, and facilitate group discussions
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $128,500 – $239,000
- Compensation may vary based on job level, geographic location, incentive plan participation, and exemption status
