Position Overview
Spotify is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join the Platform Design team, specifically within the Shipping Our Expertise (SOE) initiative. This role sits at the intersection of Product UX, Brand Design, and Product Marketing, helping productize the “Spotify way” of working into a new catalog of external-facing SaaS products.
The designer will play a key role in defining the visual language, UX strategy, and overall design quality of a growing ecosystem of professional software used by organizations worldwide — from startups to global enterprises. This is a highly strategic, hands-on role with significant influence over both product direction and design culture.
Key Responsibilities
Design Strategy & Product Ownership
- Frame complex problem spaces and define design strategies for emerging SaaS products
- Explore multiple design directions and converge on high-confidence recommendations
- Own the end-to-end quality, cohesion, and consistency of sophisticated user journeys
UX, Visual Language & Systems
- Ensure a seamless, inspiring, and world-class product UX across the SaaS catalog
- Contribute to and evolve a scalable design system for external-facing products
- Balance established Spotify design paradigms with fresh, innovative visual approaches
- Translate the Spotify brand into a professional SaaS context that feels human, alive, and purposeful
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to co-create strategic direction
- Represent design in high-impact product rituals and senior stakeholder forums
- Influence product decisions by challenging assumptions and reframing problem spaces
Craft, Tools & Execution
- Design intuitive experiences for diverse user groups, including executives, technical specialists, and operational teams
- Leverage AI-assisted design workflows for rapid ideation and prototyping while maintaining high craft standards
- Apply product marketing sensibilities to communicate product value and brand narratives
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and empower other designers, fostering a culture of strong design thinking and execution
- Champion design excellence, clarity, and rationale across the organization
Required Qualifications
Design & Product Experience
- Proven experience in complex product environments (scaled tech companies, platforms, or top-tier agencies)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality UX, visual design, and systems thinking
- Experience designing professional SaaS products or platforms with diverse user needs
Brand, Marketing & Tools
- Ability to adapt and evolve brand identity into a professional SaaS context
- Experience in product marketing or storytelling for software products
- Proficiency with content management systems (Webflow or similar preferred)
Skills & Mindset
- Exceptional visual design instincts with strong attention to detail
- Ability to simplify complex workflows into intuitive user experiences
- Clear communicator who supports design decisions with rationale and data
