Role Overview
Affirm is looking for a Social & Community Manager to shape how the brand shows up in culture every day. This role goes beyond channel management — it’s about participating meaningfully in conversations, spotting trends before they peak, and building authentic community engagement.
You’ll partner with senior leaders on strategy while leading real-time cultural participation, social storytelling, and community-building initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
📡 Cultural Intelligence & Real-Time Engagement
- Identify emerging trends, creators, and conversations across platforms
- Participate in cultural moments with the right tone, speed, and creativity
- Ensure Affirm feels relevant, human, and distinctive online
💬 Community Building
- Foster dialogue and engagement across social platforms
- Turn audience participation into trust and long-term loyalty
- Engage meaningfully in comments and conversations
🚀 Campaign Integration
- Partner with Brand, Communications, and Partner Marketing teams
- Ensure campaigns are social-first and culturally resonant
- Bring launches and narratives to life across channels
🎨 Creative Experimentation
- Test new formats and ideas that stretch brand expression
- Collaborate with creators to amplify authentic storytelling
📊 Measurement & Optimization
- Use social listening and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social)
- Capture insights and continuously optimize performance
What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 8–10 years in social and community management
(Exceptional candidates with 5+ years and demonstrated cultural impact considered) - Proven ability to spark conversation and build engaged communities
- Experience collaborating with creators and cultural voices
Skills & Mindset
- Deep cultural fluency across platforms and emerging trends
- Strong storytelling instincts across short-form video and evolving formats
- Ability to move quickly with sound judgment
- Analytical mindset with experience using social reporting tools
- Collaborative and energized by cross-functional work
Compensation
Base Salary (U.S.):
- $140,000 – $190,000 (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT)
- $124,000 – $174,000 (all other states)
Equity: Eligible for equity awards
